Community Mission

Dallas Ministerial Association Thanksgiving Dinner and Worship will be held on Wed., Nov. 25.  Dinner begins at 5:30 with worship following at 7:00 p.m.  Everyone in the community is invited and welcome! The dinner is held at the Lutheran Church on Washington Street.

Time to Ring the Bells for the Salvation Army!  Once again Dallas UMC volunteers will be helping the Salvation Army with their Christmas Collection program.  We will be ringing the bell and “personing” the kettle this year on December 4 and 5, in one hour shifts from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  And this year we will be at Walmart.  Sign-up sheets are in the Fellowship Hall, or contact Dick Formhals at 503-623-9626.  For additional information or to volunteer for different times, see the Salvation Army web site  www.ringbells.org.

Thanksgiving Food Bank Challenge.  Be sure to pick-up your grocery bag to fill with staples for the Dallas Food Bank and bring it back on Sunday, Nov 22 for dedication and transport to the food bank..  Our goal is to collect 1,000 pounds of food to help our friends and neighbors in need enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday.  We can do it if everyone helps!  Thanks!!

Feeding the Hungry

James 2 Community Meals continue to be very successful in providing food and companionship to folks in our community.  Over the summer, attendance has increased to over one hundred meals each week.  There is a need for more volunteers!  If you are interested, contact Donna Davis at 503-508-8421 or call the church office.
